Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome back to another school year!

For the 2008-09 school year, the Parent, Family and Community Engagement portion of the Board Plan for Continuous Improvement has been significantly revised. The revisions build on the significant work already underway in our schools and focus on the important relationship between and among families, schools and their communities in relation to supporting improved student achievement.

I invite you to become engaged in one or more of the numerous ways of supporting your children - from reading to your child and listening to your child read, to volunteering at school. The possibilities are endless.

Enjoy each moment of this school year as it is sure to be filled with many exciting learning opportunities for you and your children.
